Baby Camping Gear.

Are you having a hard time finding baby camping gear for your infant? As you have probably already noticed it is not as easy to find toddler or baby camping gear as it is to find adult camping or hiking equipment. Hopefully this page will help you find what you are looking for...

Three of my favorite stores to buy camping gear , Backcountry, Altrec and REI offer more than enough gear to keep your baby or kid and you happy. And more importantly they all offer great customer service. Backcountry especially has always been very helpful.

Backcountry carries an assortment of baby and kids clothing. One of the brands they carry that I've been impressed with is Patagonia. I've had a couple of their Organic cotton Beneficial T-shirts for 8 years or so now and they still look pretty good. In fact, they look better than most other T-shirts that I've only had for a year or so.

Though no company is perfect, there are some that try harder than others. Patagonia is a good example of a company with an earth-friendly philosophy. From using organic cotton to recycled materials they are a good example for others to follow.

One Alaskan states she's used the Patagonia Reversible Puffball Bunting in combination with the Patagonia Synchilla Bunting for temperatures down to a -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Now that's cold... and impressive. The Puffball is designed for fall and winter outings while the Synchilla is made of fleece. So depending on the weather, one or both should serve to keep your baby warm and snuggly on a cool night. :-)

If a bunting is going to be too warm Patagonia also makes a Puffball vest and jacket and Altrec has it along with Synchilla booties.

If you're looking for more choices REI offers everything from child carriers along with sun hoods and bug nets, to clothing, swimsuits, gloves, socks, bike trailers, footwear and even baby joggers and trailers. The fact that REI has been around since 1938 speaks for itself.

If your kids are beyond baby camping gear Backcountry and REI probably offer the biggest selection of kids gear.

Also, if you're looking for decent quality kid tents, here's a suggestion.

If you're in need of a kids sleeping bag there's a recommendation almost halfway down the page.

Oops, I almost forgot, if you're looking for baby camping gear footwear Zappos is close to the best customer-friendly store I've found. These guys go above and beyond the call. I ordered some shoes on a Friday night at 7:00 pm and had them before noon on Monday morning. That's less than one business day! Last I knew they also offered free shipping and returns if needed. Highly recommended. Hope that helps. :-)
