First Aid/Emergency Camping List- The First Aid Kit list could be the most important part of the camping checklist. Use waterproof containers for matches, maps, and anything else that should stay dry. If you have small kids you may want to get a gate that you can put around the fire to keep them at a safer distance.

___Cell or satellite phone and charger for emergencies
___Duct tape
___Emergency phone numbers
___Extra blankets
___Extra set of car keys (this was a $60 lesson for me). :-)
___Fire extinguisher
___First Aid Kit in waterproof container- extra medications, antiseptic wipes, cotton swabs, antibiotic ointment, hydrogen peroxide, bandaids, medical tape and sterile gauze, scissors, burn ointment, poison ivy creams, bee sting kit, snake bite kit, sinus medication, tissue, antacid, diarrhea medicine, syrup of Ipecac, sunburn lotion, tweezers, magnifying glass, aspirin/Tylenol, hot/cold packs, latex gloves, thermometer, elastic/Ace wrap, moleskin, soap, eye drops and wash, feminine products, safety pins, spare coins for pay phone.

___Medication (extra prescription)
___Multi-tool/Leatherman or Swiss Army Knife
___Nail clippers and file
___Note pad and pen
___Radio with weather and batteries

___Walkie talkies, built-in GPS locators are a good idea

Logistics Camping List- If you're camping in the backcountry make sure you let friends and rangers know your plans and schedule. If you have a satellite phone, walkie talkie, or cell phone (consider range) give them your contact information and get theirs too. Tell them what your car looks like and give them the license number.

Toiletries/Personal Hygiene Camping List- Make up a travel bag with your toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, shampoo, soap, deodorant, razor, shaving cream, brush/comb, body/foot powder, lip balm, nail clippers/file, tweezers, and all your other toiletries so you can grab it and go.

Stay Out Of The Doghouse Camping List- This last camping check list is short but highly critical to a happy camping trip. Don't leave any of these home by mistake. ;-)
