The West Coast Trail (Pacific Rim National Park): A rugged 5-7 day 47 mile hike through rivers, over steep slopes, slippery rocks, and up ladders.

British Columbia Vancouver's Hiking Group: If you're looking to do some hiking with a group around Vancouver this may be your site as they try to get out about once per week. Take a look at their calander. They also have several photo galleries.

Canadian Rockies Walking, Inn 4.33/5 Rating, (6 days)- Hike through Banff, Yoho, and Jasper National Parks to see old-growth forest, glaciers, and maybe bear, elk, or bighorn sheep. Could include 2-4 hour hikes/walks/treks. "Pleasant" accommodations. Basic skills recommended but not required.

Canadian Rockies Hiking (6 days)- Start in Banff National Park and hike lodge to lodge past snow capped peaks, possibly mountain goats, blue lakes, and on to Yoho National Park. Daily hiking (6-8 hours). For the experienced. Camp in small 2-person tents or huts, no heavy packs, and probably no daily showers. Some skills are required and previous experience is recommended.

Nova Scotia Walking The Bay of Fundy and Annapolis Valley, Inn (6 days)- Walk past fishing villages, sheltered coves, 17th-century dike lands, and forest trails. Could include 2-4 hour hikes/walks/treks. "Pleasant" accommodations. No special Canada hiking skills are required.

Rockies Multi-Sport (7 Days)- Bicycle, hike, and paddle (whitewater) through mountains, forests, lakes and "spirited" waterways then head back to the lodges at night. Daily strenuous biking (30-50 miles) and/or hiking (6-8 hours). "Pleasant" accommodations. Basic skills recommended but not required.

Vancouver & Gulf Islands (6 days)- Hike among 600 year-old Douglas firs, explore rugged coastlines, bike Vancouver Island's wine country, kayak harbors and maybe see otters, whales, and porpoises. Could include 2-4 hour hikes/walks/treks, and paddling in small rapids. Eat/sleep in "nice" accommodations. Basic skills recommended but not required.

KE Adventure

KE Adventure (KEadventure.com) was started in 1996 and offers their own travel agency. They have expanded into Canada hiking tours and currently have offices in the U.K. and the U.S.

Northern Exposure- Trekking in the Yukon (15 days): 8 days of moderate hiking starting in the south at Whitehorse and ending in the far north at Dawson. Day hikes in Kluane National Park and around Skagway, Alaska are part of the trip. Be on the lookout for lynx, grizzly bear, golden eagles, and Dall sheep. You'll want to be in great shape as you'll reach a maximum altitude of 7,650 ft. Accommodations are roll mats under the sky. Check on your level of Canada backpacking experience. Some meals aren't included.

Rocky Mountain Pioneer (14 days): Day hikes around Jasper and then a 28 mile three day hike down the Skyline Trail (with pack horses) and highlighted with snow-capped peaks and waterfalls. Then it's a 4 day canoe trip where you might see bear, elk, beaver, and moose. Maximum altitude is 2,240 ft. Accommodations include 5 nights hotel/cabin and 8 nights Canada camping. Difficulty level is considered moderate. All meals except the final dinner are included.

REI also has quite a few trips that include Canada Hiking. They've been in business for 17 years and usually limit group size to less than 16. I'd like to list all their Canada hiking trips here but they can change and they would also take up alot of space. Please go to REI for more information about their Canada Hiking trips.

Vancouver, Canada:This is a great Canada hiking site if you're headed to Vancouver. Detailed and descriptive 20 minute to 14 hour day trips, some can be extended to overnight with ratings and beautiful pictures. You'll want to check this out if your looking to visit the area.

Hiking Trails of Nova Scotia, by Michael Haynes: Are you looking for trails in Nova Scotia? This book describes trails, has GPS coordinates, and maps.

Lonely Planet Canada's Maritime Provinces, by David Stanley: Includes New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. Covers lodging, provincial parks, suggested itineraries, scenic drives, maps, and even ideas of where to go for lobster.

Moon Handbooks Canadian Rockies: Including Banff and Jasper National Parks,by Andrew Hempstead: This book lists places to see, good restaurants, and nice motels to stay at. Even a local might learn something about the lesser known areas of the Canadian Rockies because the author knows them so well.

One Day Hikes: (.onedayhikes.com) This is a great Canada hiking site that focuses on finding the best one day hikes in the world. There isn't a huge quantity, but that's not the point. Look for the area you're planning on traveling to and find a great hike.

Walks & Easy Hikes in the Canadian Rockies, by Graeme Pole: For those looking for less physical Canada hiking in the Canadian Rockies from Banff to Jasper. Although the hiking difficulty ratings may be off this guide does tell you the best time of day to see the things, help to plan your trip, and point out the shorter walks and hikes.
