Basic Essential Camping Gear.

When it comes down to essential camping gear, most people would agree that some basics should be covered. This information will get you started on what gear is important to take camping.

Please follow the links below for guides, tips, tutorials, reviews and advice on what to look for in essential camping gear and hiking equipment. Each page has suggestions and ideas about how to evaluate gear, and what to look for to make sure you're getting the best backpacking and camping gear possible. Many of these guides are also followed by reviews of gear that I've researched to be the best, to save you time and money. These recommendations are the same that I would use if I were shopping for myself or if a friend asked me for a suggestion. The recommendations are not pulled from a hat or bought by the manufacturer. Instead it's gear that has been voted "top dog" so to speak. ;-)

Because gear changes, the recommendations can and will most likely change from time to time. So here's something to get you started. Enjoy.

Please realize this is just a starting list. This essential camping equipment will for the most part get you by, but there are more than a few other things that can add to the enjoyment of your trip. Have a look at the navigation bar at the top left, and the camping list for a more exhaustive list of ideas. Not everyone has the same needs or wants, so think of this long list as a starting point for possibilities. Print it off and cross out the things you don't want or need. Now, use the remaining list of things you do want as a checklist to be used as you buy and/or pack things for your trip.

If there's some essential camping gear that you feel has been left off the list, contact me and let me know. I'm open to suggestions. :-)

I hope you found this information helpful.
