A Kid Tents Recommendation.

When shopping for kid tents you want one of good quality yet it should be inexpensive because kids can be hard on gear. Also it's nice to avoid spending a lot of money on something your kid may or may not use much, but at the same time you want to keep them dry, and the biting bugs away....

If you're looking for a kids tent the Kelty Early Explorer is one to take a look at. Measuring 5 feet by 6 feet this tent is definitely sized for kids, but the small rainfly, mesh door, and polyurethane-coated fiberglass poles (to increase safety and help to protect from splinters if they ever break) make this kids tent better than most flimsy toys. The half-rainfly should hold up to a light rain, but is best in warm dry weather. Most kids probably won't need a full four-season tent anyway because they usually camp during nice summer weather, unless you've raised polar bears. ;-)

But seriously if you do 3 or 4-season camping with your kids, most kid tents I know of aren't designed to handle that. Take a look at my camping tents page for other camping equipment recommendations. If on the other hand you're just looking for a simple kids tent that your children can sleep in your backyard the Kelty name makes this kids tent worth a look.
